The other day I hinted at the possibility of the other unbeaten team’s fortune, didn’t I? Looks like teams that remain unbeaten for quite some time can be beaten. At least that is what I learnt from Sri Lanka’s encounter against Pakistan today and South Africa’s encounter against Pakistan the other day. On both these occasions, it was Pakistan that spoiled the unbeaten team’s party. Coming to today’s match, Pakistan looked more confident than the Sri Lakan counterparts and that was the main reason why the Lankans didn’t play properly today. As a matter of fact, this is the second time the Pakistanis are featuring in the final of the T20 World Cup. Last time they were unfortunate but this time they were somewhat circumspect and made sure they played sensible cricket. They did that and they are now the champions of the shorter version of the game. This title will be there with them for another two years and it will be only a matter of defending it when they play the next World Cup!
