The Thiumala Thirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) has made the change stating that the free laddoos were cutting into the temple’s annual budget of Rs 40 crore. Things became far worse when they noted that there was black marketing. Nearly tow lakh laddoos are prepared each day by the TTD. Over 60,000 devotees visit the shrine every day. The delightful sweet rolls of ghee, camphor and cardamom might rake in the moolah but this recent decision will definitely be difficult for the devotees to digest.

All is well that ends well?
Jairam Ramesh never fails to surprise. Guess what he did this time, the environment minister entered the Japanese delegation’s office at Copenhagen unannounced. He wanted to make amends for having kept his Japanese counterpart waiting at the Indian delegation’s office earlier, while he was at another meeting. Hence the impromptu decision to walk down to their office to meet their minutest detail were taken aback and took some time to come to grips with the situation. They had planned the meeting of the two ministers at the Indian delegation office right down to where the official photographer would stand and had even conducted a mock drill to ensure that nothing would go wrong.

Vettaikaran review
Entertaining? Yes. Logical? Hell no. Well that’s how you can describe the movie in a couple of words. Incredible stunts, fiery punch lines, foot tapping numbers, this movie has everything you can ask for in a Vijay movie. High on hype and hoopla, this flick received an overwhelming response from the audience and since its release, it’s running in packed theaters. Without veering any further, let me tell you the gist of the story. Vijay, the protagonist aspires to be an IPS officer but the one thing that deters him from fulfilling his dream is the unsatisfactory results in the board exams. He idolizes an honest super cop of his village and endeavors to emulate each and every aspect of his. He then moves to Chennai to pursue his education and in the process meets the heroine Anushka Shetty and falls in love with her immediately. Talking about the heroine, she’s there just to add glamor and the director seriously doesn’t know how to utilize her in the movie. Sadly enough, the ravishing heroine doesn’t get enough footage in the movie other than the songs. And what next in the movie? The hero wages war with the heinous antagonist and eventually succeeds in it. Whether he becomes a successful police officer or not forms the climax of the story. The good thing about the movie is the fun filled and somewhat amusing first half. What didn’t impress me is the hero’s incredible fighting prowess. Bashing a couple of goons is fine but how can a person knock out 10-15 of them almost single handedly? The stunts look very unrealistic and that’s a big let down. Vettaikaran is an out and out Vijay movie and despite being devoid of logic, I’m sure this will fare decently at the box office. After a series of flops on the trot, Vijay can now afford to smile.
