Ace cricketer Brian Lara, it seems, is an avid fan of Manmohan Singh. Recently, when the Prime Minister of India paid a visit to the Port of Spain for an official meeting, the cricketer expressed a great desire to meet him. Despite their hectic schedules, both agreed to meet. While Manmohan Singh had the Commonwealth heads of Government meeting to attend, Brian Lara was to be conferred the Order of Australia award by the Aussie premiere. The rendezvous was only for just 1o minutes and the Prime Minister reached on time but the cricketer made him wait for quite a while. Eventually, he turned up and without any hesitation offered an apology for making the great man wait. One would have thought that he would have been exasperated by the long delay but he brushed aside the apology and immediately put the cricketer at ease by talking about cricket. Minutes into the meeting and the cricketer was nonplussed when the Indian Prime Minister started reciting the scores of this stylish left hander and those of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid too. Now who said Manmohan Singh had no for Cricket?
